WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK?

What are some things that you are afraid to do or even afraid NOT to do? What things when it comes to making changes in your diet and lifestyle make you feel uncertain, uncomfortable, or even afraid to change or do?

We all have fears. We all have things that make us feel uncertain, uncomfortable, or afraid. And the very act of change itself can be all those! We tend to fear the unfamiliar and tend to be creatures of habit by nature.

What makes the difference between those who achieve success in their lives and those who sit on the sidelines wishing, dreaming, saying I should have, I could have, I would have... The difference is the ones who chose to FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY!


WHAT FEAR CONTROLS YOU??

Today I'd like to ask you to make a list of 3-5 things that fear is holding you back on. What are you afraid of?

  • It could be joining a new gym. Scary right? New place, new people, strange equipment. What if they see me? What if I'm the only one who doesn't know what I am doing? What if they judge me? Laugh at me? And heaven forbid… what if they talk to me! STOP LETTING FEAR CONTROL YOU! What if you join a new gym and learn some new exercises, develop stronger muscles, make some new friends, and have the time of your life!?!


  • It could be trying new food. What if it tastes bad? What if I don't like it? What if I end up throwing it away? What if I have wasted my money buying something I didn't like? STOP LETTING FEAR CONTROL YOU! What if you try new food and find you LOVE it! You love the way it tastes and how it makes your body feel. What if it now becomes one of your new favorite foods!?!


  • It could be trying a new exercise. Taking a walk outside. Changing your daily routine. Trying a new recipe. Getting a health coach. Hiring a personal trainer. It could be... well...most anything. Have you tried Yoga? Pilates? Strength Training? Acupuncture? Reflexology? Meditation? Massage? Dancing? Biking? Tennis? Attending a cooking class? What are you afraid of trying? STOP LETTING FEAR CONTROL YOU!


  • It could even be something you're afraid to give up...soda pop, alcohol, refined sugars, frozen dinners (convenience), fast food, desserts, etc. What is something you feel tugging at your heart you need to let go of but you just can't seem to do it?


What is it for you? Write it down. You'll know because it's been tugging at your heart and you keep pushing it down, pushing it away, silencing it...and putting a stop to your own progress of succeeding in a healthier lifestyle.

TAKE ACTION! FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY!


Now, this week I want you to pick 1 of those 3-5 things that you wrote down, and I want you to practice FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY! Take baby steps if you need to. THAT'S OK! Even a baby step is still a step forward to a healthier you!

Remember, IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ALL OR NOTHING TO BE SOMETHING.

Here's to a fear-blasting week! YOU CAN DO IT! Remember the old cliche, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! TAKE THE SINGLE STEP AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!!
